Lost Penguin are so bratty and fun that it makes me wish the riot grrrl movement would have a bit of a revival. Sure Lost Penguin have a lot to say, but the actual music is so spazzy with nervous energy from the sirens, to the ADD too many beats drum machines, to the fierce vocal yelpings that it has me wanting to cover all the baseboards in the apartment with rope lights while taking out all the bulbs from the overhead sockets and live like an airport runway almost forgetting their message. I guess what strikes me most about these little penguins is that they are young and full of spiteful energy reminding me of the first time I heard Skinned Teen on the Peel Out in the States radio show when I was seventeen. So far these kids only have two singles, but please do yourself a favor and get them NOW!!! Don't be one of those scouring ebay in 5 years looking for them like lost Huggy Bear singles you sold when you needed a buck.[MySpace Link]
