HHBTM is so super excited about getting to release the Home Recordings 1984 - 1990 of Joe Jack Talcum that we made these really cool Joe Jack Talcum pillowcases for a special edition pre-order. This is just the first volume in the Joe jack Talcum "Home Recordings Series". Volume 2 will be here just in time for the winter holidays. For those of you who don't know Joe is one of the main song-writers and sings some of the songs in the Dead Milkmen (a band that I have been a fan of for almost 25 years now). The sleeve is a Joe Jack design silkscreened by me on Pink / Grey / Cream sleeves. The deluxe version comes with a pillowcase and a button but hurry up as I only made 30 for pre-order. HHBTM is now branching out to handle other labels in manufacturing and distribution. The first label to fall under the HHBTM umbrella is This Will Be Our Summer Records which is a label that is co-run by myself and Len Neighbors. Some of you folks might know Len from his involvement in the Athens PopFest. We are super proud to announce the first release TWBOS001 is Athens, GA artist Madeline (Orange Twin, Plan-it-X) with her new album "Black Velvet". The album will be released on vinyl, CD, and digital download on the 14th of June. After years and years of folks asking for HHBTM to make hoodies. We finally did it. HHBTM of Athens, GA hoodie was designed my Mike Turner (that's me) and drawn by Andy Hart. The design is printed in white ink on black Tultex 80% cotton 20% polyester pull overs with pocket on front with draw string. Only 20 of these made, so get them while you can.

Hey Folks,
Lots and lots of news...... I don't even know where to start. I guess I should tell everyone that Leslie and I moved into a new cottage home back in late March only to be living in the house for a week to find out it has a rat problem. Yep rats......I know it's gross. Long story short we were able to break the lease, and we are now packing and getting ready to move into a new place over the next week that's a bit on the out skirts of Athens. So now instead of living only 2.1 miles from work I'll live 5.2 miles away. There might not be many updates over the next 2 weeks, but i'll be able to check email at work as far as questions and orders go. Anyway on with the news...........

The Superions (Fred Schneider of the B-52's new project) will have their debut EP out on CD and in stores Tuesday February 23rd. The 12" version will be delayed by a week, but should be available at your local mom and pop record shop by March 2nd. The EP features 3 originals and 4 remixes (Casper & the Cookies, the Lolligags, Marshmallow Coast, and Ursula 1000). There is still a little time to get one of the PREMIUM Pre-Order versions that comes with the CD / 12" / button / keychain / autographed LP sleeve / and answering machine message. Only available till next Monday at midnight. Fred is being a real good sport and helping us out by doing loads of press. He'll be on the Howard Stern show next week, he's guest editing Magnet this week, doing CMJ's tv program, doing a radio show with the legendary Tothar in Cleveland on Luxuriamusic.com on Sunday night 10 PM eastern on February 21st, has interviews coming up in the New Gay, the Onion, and loads more. Sourpatch Record Release / SUPERIONS & more

Sourpatch is having a record release show on January 9th @ the Farmhouse in San Jose, CA. The actual official release date isn't until February 2nd though. For all those who pre-ordered the LP's and CD's have shipped, and the download codes for the vinyl have now been activated. Our Sourpatch contest winner will be announced next week.

Also back in stock in super limited quantities Casper & the Cookies "Oh" on CD, and Marshmallow Coast "Phreak Phantasy" on LP. If you don't have them, i'd pick them up quickly as they won't be around long. Only a handful of each came back from a distributor that went under recently.

And in Superions news, the deluxe pre-order that comes with a personal out-going answering machine message by Fred Schneider ends at midnight Pacific time on January 7th (that's midnight Thursday night). After that the answering machine message will not be part of the pre-order. Those pre-order will get a MP3 of the message emailed to you shortly.

I know this has taken forever to post, but we had some delays in the project, but now it’s time for the big news. HHBTM will be releasing “The Superions" EP by the Superions, the new project by Fred Schneider (of the B-52’s) , Noah Brodie, and Dan Marshall. The CD EP & 12” features 3 new originals "Totally Nude Island”, “Who Threw that Ham at Me”, and “Those Sexy Saucer Gals” along with 4 remixes by Ursula 1000, the Lolligags, Casper & the Cookies, and Marshmallow Coast. The tracks will be available digitally on January 19th, 2010, and the CD & 12” will be available on February 16th, 2010. HHBTM is currently taking pre-orders with many different package deals. You can order just the CD or 12”, or get them together, or together with a button and keychain, or the deluxe package that features, both the CD, the 12”, a button, a keychain, an autographed silkscreen sleeve, and a personal answering machine message by the Superions. Wow, we get the digital single for the new Superions song up on itunes on the 22nd for "Who Threw That Ham at Me" and then Paula Dean gets hit in the face by a ham. The song is about an urban myth based around a shoplifting story, but this works as well.

The CD & 12" will be out in January and there will be a cool pre-order starting on Monday. Everyone enjoy their Thanksgiving Weekend.

The Sourpatch "Crushin" pre-order has been going great. There are only a few totes left, so if you want the pre-order goodies you better hurry. The CDs will be in roughly the 2nd week of December with shipments going out right after Christmas. The LPs will be in at the end of December with shipments going out the first week of January if all goes well.

On Monday there will be a huge announcement on the HHBTM site and big pre-order, so be sure to check back.

The Lovely Eggs have been super busy after their US Tour with Cars Can Be Blue this past September. They have a new spooky movie they made for Artrocker.tv (follow the link). They have a video for their new single based around Twin Peaks “Haunt Me Out” out now on Cherryade Records. [watch the artrocker.tv film before the new video]. The single is limited to 100 copies and comes decorated like one of Agent Cooper’s favorite donuts and the single even comes with a Laura Palmer half heart necklace. Currently at the pressing plant is the debut album "Crushin'" by Sourpatch which will come out in January 2010 on both CD and LP. To celebrate this fun little pop record we are doing a pre-order like always and a contest. The pre-order will start on Monday November 9th. The pre-order will consist of either the CD or LP and the bonus goodies will include a silkscreen Sourpatch tote bag, a button, and a CD-R EP. We will choose a random name from the pre-order and this person will receive a mix tape from the band, a 3 color poster, postcards, stickers, a letter, and a phone call on their birthday. I'd get in on the pre-order early as the Bunnygrunt and Afternoon Naps ones didn't last long. The Sourpatch CD will ship in mid-December while the LP will ship in early January.

Senior Coasting Times

It's been a pretty busy couple of weeks for Marshmallow Coast and HHBTM. In the next few weeks you'll be able to download "Seniors & Juniors", "Coasting + bonus tracks", and "Times Square + bonus tracks" from Itunes, Emusic, or your favorite download service. Andy is also in the middle of recording "Super Seniors & Juniors" which is a re-recording and updating of the album that many consider to be his best. This time around it's going to feature lots of guests, and will sound a bit more like Andy's newest album "Phreak Phantasy". This record will be on CD/LP in mid-2010. After that we'll start issuing all the older Marshmallow Coast catalog on vinyl. If you can't wait for your next Marshmallow Coast fix you can always go check out his recent interview on the Mad About Town podcast.

It's a bit Wedding Present, a bit Keith John Adams, a bit silly to be honest, but as charming as can be. I love pop songs, catchy melodies, a bit of humor, and this has all three. Gordon Lamb and myself were talking one evening after I got out of work at Wuxtry a few years ago and I was saying how much I would love to be able to reissue the album Comely by the Bar B-Q Killers. Well Gordon actually jumped right on it, and after a few meetings with the remaining band members it was a go. Then luck would have it that Dave Barbe wanted to clean up the tapes and remix the album. Then it started to grow from a simple reissue into a full completist dream and turned into almost everything including loads of unreleased tracks span over two discs. Which brings us to today, we started a kickstarter campaign where people can pledge donations of different amounts for different packages. We wanted to do a kickstarter so the double CD could start off even, and then the proceeds could go to Laura Carter's son. [note: this is not the Laura Carter from Elf Power]. Laura passed away in 2002 leaving a son behind. The Bar B-Q Killers really stole the show when it came to the movie Athens, GA Inside:Out. If you've ever seen the movie you know what I'm talking about. The indie-pop fan base that HHBTM has might not understand why I want to get this amazing album back out to the people, but hopefully after you watch the video you will.

The Bunnygrunt LPs are in, I’m now hoping to have the dolls finished by the middle of next week and ready to ship hopefully by the end of the week. The Afternoon Naps LPs are still being finished, so I’m hoping to ship this out in a week to 10 days. If you haven’t pre-ordered the Afternoon Naps “Parade” CD or LP that comes with the pillow case you should do so real soon, and I’m down to the last copies. (pic of the LP sleeve, CD and pillowcase below). The Tunabunny / Hulaboy split is held up another 2 to 3 weeks due to a pop on the Tunabunny side. A new plate is being made now. I have also listed up a bunch of extra copies or over-run copies of some of the singles club singles. Some singles didn’t have any extras, so if you hurry you might get the one single you want or need. Also I have had a few clubs returned to me from bad addresses, and I haven’t been able to get in touch with their owners to get their new addresses. NEW HHBTM SITE & NEWS

HHBTM has a new website, go there for contest and give away news...now on to the rest.

HHBTM has also signed a few new bands starting with the Superions, Tunabunny, Titans of Filth, and Sourpatch. We’ll be releasing a Superions 12″ in late fall. If you didn’t know the Superions features Fred Schneider of the B-52’s and the single will feature 3 Superions tracks and a few remixes. Titans of Filth are currently recording their debut long player which will be vinyl and download only with an early 2010 release date. Sourpatch are currently working on the artwork finishing touches for their debut long player due out in just a few months. Tunabunny have a split 12″ w/ Hulaboy coming out in the next month, and then a debut long player later in the year.

HHBTM is also sad to announce that the Lolligags have put a hold on their debut album and at this time are on an extended hiatus. Too bad as the record was really sounding great. Maybe I can get them to change their mind, we’ll just have to see.

For anyone who has not got in their Bunnygrunt or Afternoon Naps preorders please do so real soon, as I only have a few Afternoon Naps pillow cases, and I’ve stopped taking orders on Bunnygrunt doll sets, but you can still get a random Bunnygrunt doll with your preorder.

Also I have some singles club sets left, get them while you can and before they start popping up on ebay. I had held aside some clubs for distros to offer to mom and pop stores, but held aside a few too many, so I still have a few available.

I have been really behind lately on posting news especially tour dates for Casper & the Cookies (I pretty much missed posting the first week ½ of their tour, sorry yall). I got to thinking about doing this post after I got back home from the Randy Bday show last night at the 40 Watt. The show was a tribute to Randy the guitarist from Pylon that passed away earlier this year. I was honored to be asked by Michael and Vanessa from Pylon to help find bands that would be the right fit for the show. They already had the Gold Party and Flash to Bang Time lined up, but I was able to put Tunabunny and Everybody Everybody on the bill. Overall the night wasn’t really weighed down by the fact Randy was no longer with us physically but it was really a celebration of his life and what Randy and Pylon helped to create in this little college town. Lots of the original crew of Athens party kids who are now grown up and have kids of their own came out, and to be frank actually danced circles around us younger folks. Michael dj’d between each band. Paul their longtime soundman, former side effect, and all around friend played old movies from the band’s archives. Tunabunny played a few Pylon numbers and some of their own material with tonight being one of those nights where they were able to keep the train on the tracks. To me right now Tunabunny really capture what late 70’s Athens was probably like…just true reckless fun that may never make it outside of the loop that borders Athens but it doesn’t matter as it’s fun and it’s now. Everybody Everybody got all tribal and brought their inner most Slits meets ESG meets Pop Group out for two originals and even more stripped down version of “Stop It” minus guitar. Gold Party did their Soft Cell meets A Ha so clean robotic and plastic that I almost wondering if they were playing live. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but it was super tight. Flash to Bang Time played some mellow tunes until Lynda (Stipe) got from behind the keyboard and picked up her bass. After that it was all dance party time especially after Linda Hopper hopped up on stage for a new FTBT original then it became an Oh Ok plays Pylon tribute with them doing “Weather Radio”, “Volume”, and “Crazy”. The entire night I just kept thinking man the Cookies need to be here. They should be playing this show. I know how much Pylon means to the Cookies and it would have been great to have them be part of the night. Maybe Michael, Vanessa, & Curtis will make this a yearly event. Eux Autres are in the UK currently playing the final day of the Indietracks Festival along with label mates the Lovely Eggs and the Smittens. Eux Autres will be doing a small European tour (dates below). To celebrate this tour they also just released a new 10” on Where It’s At is Where You Are, you can stream one song ”Queen Turner” from the Ep at their myspace currently. Maybe I can work out getting some copies of the 10” over here in the states shortly.

HHBTM SUMMER / FALL

These are the next three new releases coming up on HHBTM this Summer & Fall. First up we have the debut album "If You Were Fruit" by the Lovely Eggs from the UK. I found these two thanks to Cherryade Records. HHBTM & Cherryade share bands and we seem to be working together sometimes without even knowing it. This is why you can find most HHBTM stuff at the Cherryade site and Cherryade stuff at the HHBTM site. "If You Were Fruit" comes out on August 25th. (there aren't any special pre-order items for this one, maybe when we get to doing the vinyl.)

The new Bunnygrunt album "Matt Harnish & Other Delights" will be on CD & LP. This record comes out September 1st. You can pre-order just the regular versions, or if you want the special edition you'll get a cloth doll of a random bunnygrunt member. (you don't get to pick your member, but you can also order the full set while supplies last). This album is heavy on the Karen both in songwriting and vocally. The LP sleeve will feature a multi-color silkscreen design and will be limited to 300 copies.

The Afternoon Naps also have their debut HHBTM release "Parade" coming out on September 23rd on both CD & LP. Smokedog have their HHBTM debut cassette "Rogue Warrior" coming out this Friday. Yes, I did just say cassette. I have been wanting to do one for ages now, and Smokedog are just gritty enough and have that right kind of fuzz that sounds great on a cassette. The cassette is limited to 100 copies, and the last 25 copies were dubbed from the tape before in order so that the final 25 tapes gained a generation adding even more fuzz and distortion. If you are in Athens, GA this weekend you should come out to the Caledonia Lounge on Friday July 17th to pick one up and see Smokedog live along with the Mystery of Two, Marshmallow Coast, and the Titans of Filth. If you can't make the show, the cassette will be available through the HHBTM website later this week for $5.00.

Smittens WEEK comes to an end

This is the last post that wraps up Smittens week at the HHBTM blog. It's been fun adding these videos to the blog this last week, and has even made me give the recent Smittens record "the Coolest Thing About Love..." some extra spins. That record is such a huge leap for them compared to their first two albums. This band won me over big time during that first Athens PopFest in 2004. I still can't believe sometimes they joined the HHBTM family and how far they have come as songwriters and as a band. It made me so proud this year to have them get asked to not only play the NYC PopFest & San Francisco PopFest, but they also were asked back to Indietracks. I can't wait to hear what they do next. Here's a video of them doing " Half My Heart Beats" at last years New England PopFest.

Phreak Phantasy the new album by Marshmallow Coast will be officially released on May 26th on both CD & LP. This is Andy Gonzales aka Forrester aka Sailboat's 7th album to date and 2nd for Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. The new album features mainly Andy on vocals, guitar, keys, and drum machines, but he also gets some help from his wife Sarah on flute and Will Cullen Hart (Olivia Tremor Control & Circulatory System) with some tape manipulations and noises. Loppy Dallion Superstar

Today was one of the hardest days of my life. Leslie and I had to have our pet Loppy put to sleep. Loppy was 14 years old, and well we never fully knew exactly what type of breed of dog he was, but he was the best dog I have ever had. Loppy had never bitten anyone or let out a growl at even a stranger. He has so friendly and laid back. Anyone who had come over to the house or stayed with us on their stop in Athens while on tour could tell you, dogs don’t get sweeter than Loppy. I was given Loppy by my sister in the fall of 1995. He was just a puppy and a bit too hyper for her and my niece Christina. My sister got him from our cousin, but he had never taken him in for shots, and on my 21st birthday I found him dehydrated in the woods near my house sick from parvo. We took him to the vet, and with lots of fluids we got him through it. (most dogs don’t live through parvo). We used to live across the street from a practicing cowboy when we lived in Florida. When I say practicing I mean he rode bulls, would lasso cows, the whole rodeo lifestyle. Well, we soon found out Loppy loved to herd cattle. He was a natural herding dog from what our neighbor told us. This however came to end once he got into the pin with the bull while I was at work and the bull put a horn through his leg. Leslie and I came home and found him on the porch with a massive tear inside his inner back leg. We took him to the vet and once again he was patched up. He used to get to run free with all his other dog friends back when we were in Florida, but this would come to an end when someone stole him. He was missing for 3 days. We drove all around looking for him, no luck. He had tags, so I knew if he had been picked up by the dog catcher we would have been called. I decided to call the pound anyway, and they had him there. I asked where they picked him up and they told me it was on the other side of town. I guess he got free from who took him, and maybe he was heading home. We got him back, and from that moment he became a house dog. We moved to Athens in 2004, and at 9 years old he seemed just fine. In November of 2007 we took him to the vet and they told us he had a heart murmur and an enlarged prostate. The main thing that would help was to have him neutered. Yeah I know, you had him neutered at 12!!!!! It was the only thing that would help his heart and prostate. He bounced back in about a month, then he jumped up in his favorite chair one night like he always did and let out this yelp like he had been bit something. He wasn’t bit by anything, but he had given himself a hernia when he jumped up on the chair. So then he went under the knife once again. This time to put his guts back in the right place, but he never really fully came back from this one. After this surgery he became an older dog. There would be times where the inner puppy would come out, or he’d run across the yard to tree a squirrel, but he started to stay in bed much more than he used to. Then about a month ago he started to have trouble going to the bathroom. He had flairs of colitis over the years, but the cries he would let out now were ones we had never heard before. We tried different medicines, changed his diet, everything we could do. The last few days the pain was so much we had to help it to go away. We fed him the best dog food, we made sure he had all his shots, check ups, heartworm pills, walks, exercise, and plenty of hugs, rubs, and kisses, but you can’t keep them going forever. We let his last day be one of the best we could. We gave him a small cup of vanilla ice cream, some homemade sweet potato chips (baked and a bit on the softer side), and today before we took him in we gave him an old favorite he hasn’t had since we lived in Florida….a sausage biscuit.[ My dad when taking care of Loppy would give him a sausage biscuit.] He loved sausage biscuits. It has rained from Saturday all the way till today, so we didn’t get to take him to the walking park, and he didn’t get to tree one last squirrel, but he was given 14 years of love and care. I’ll never have another dog like him, and honestly I don’t think I’ll ever get another dog for myself. Leslie has her little Pip, and he is warming up to me more and more, but he’ll always be Leslie’s dog. I just want to say Loppy you have always been my best friend and I love and miss you.

Boyracer "Happenstance"

One of my all time favorite releases on HHBTM would have to be the Boyracer album Happenstance. I couldn't believe that HHBTM even was able to put out a Boyracer record. Long story super short, I pitched the idea of HHBTM & 555 getting together to release this awesome record with each label making it's own sleeve and insert for it. The HHBTM version comes in a vinyl fabric sleeve. (pic shows 3 combinations, but there are many more, and you get a random sleeve)I pressed 50 copies and I think 555 ended up doing 100. Anyway we finished our sleeves first so we are going to go ahead and start taking orders for it now. (however most copies will not ship until next week when the mailers from bagsunlimited get here). Oh yeah, you can order the LP at the HHBTM website for $15.00 in the USA & Canada (shipping costs apply everywhere else).

The Cars Can Be Blue "All the Stuff We Do" VINYL is now in. Everyone who did an early preorder for $20.00 not only received the vinyl but a patch, a button set, a promo photo, an olan mills photo, and a Cdr of the vinyl. All orders now will include what few extras that are left till they run out. We have just a handful of copies left, so pick them up while you can. The band will have copies at shows, but I don't think they will be around too long. Oh, yeah all the preorder copies were shipped out on Tuesday as well.

GREAT NEWS: the Of Montreal / James Husband single is nearly ready...it's just waiting on the single from the plant, and the sleeve. The High Water Marks / Love Letter Band single is being mastered now, and will go to the plant on Monday, and the sleeve will be finished this weekend. The final single is in the works and it's looking good that these singles will ship out in May 2009 hopefully before the postage increase. The bonus 150 stuff is almost done too, so thanks to everyone who has been patient. I will send out a reminder to get correct or current addresses in mailing wise the last week of April. Also for anyone who has not picked up a club I did a count, and there are only 12 subscriptions left now. This afternoon Randy Bewley (guitarist from Pylon) died from a heart attack that he suffered while driving on Monday evening. He will be missed. Randy was a real super funny guy, very kind, and one of the most innovative guitarists of our time. Pylon played a big role in my fascination with Athens while in high school in the late 80's. I found a copy of Athens, GA Inside Out at a pawn shop in Panama City, Fl where I'm from on cassette. I picked it up because R.E.M. were on it and I had never heard the song "Dream" which after getting the tape I found was a popular cover. This cassette opened my world up to so much it's almost impossible for me to think of what would be if I had not found it that day. The Pylon track " Stop It" was the highlight of the soundtrack. I was able to trade some Judybats singles and EPs I had to a girl at my school that had a copy of the actual VHS of Athens, GA Inside Out, and I knew then I would someday move there. I picked up loads of DB stuff over the next few years, and would give a bit more time to a band coming out of Athens than I would from anywhere else it seemed. I made trips to Athens through the 90's only
to finally move here in 2004. Shortly after moving here Pylon reformed and played a secret show in August of 2004. The timing was a nightmare though, as I couldn't go to it as I was in the middle of the first Athens PopFest, so i missed the show. They played again that new year's eve which might have been the best show I will have ever gone to. In the spring of 2005 I sat down with Randy, Vanessa, and Michael from Pylon (Curtis was out of town at the time) for an interview for an issue of the Bee's Knees that never went to print. I was so nervous talking to them, to me they were like the Beatles or Rolling Stones. Everyone was so polite and funny, and soon they put my nerves on ease. After that interview we ended up actually getting to be friends. They played the second Athens Popfest and a dream that seemed impossible before moving to Athens had came true. I never thought I'd ever see them play, but for Pylon to play at the Popfest..... it just couldn't get better. Pylon shows in Athens were always special because they had such a fan base here, and everyone was
there to dance and have a good time. (I mean when was the last time you went to a show and have an entire room moving on the floor?). When they played the Popfest however only about half the crowd knew them, most of the out of towners had no idea who they were. When booking them it never struck me that they would be playing to an almost completely new crowd, but when they went on you could see a bit of nervousness on the first song or two. After a few songs the audience couldn't help but to start dancing, and soon the entire club was getting to experience that Athens dance party that was a Pylon show. I could go on and on about each member, but I want
to share mainly about Randy. It was shortly after the show that I got to know Randy. We met downtown one night and he had dinner with my wife Leslie and I at Clocked. We talked about art and music, he shared a bunch of funny Pylon stories, and gave me an original 1" pylon button (or badge as known in the UK). Leslie and I that night dubbed him Rockin' Randy which we always called him after that. The nickname never caught on to others, but it was our little thing. Randy would drop by Wuxtry and we'd talk for hours about new records and reissues, he even took Leslie and myself backstage after the Gang of Four show in 2005 and introduced us to them all. He was just such a great person, always friendly, and open to talking about nearly anything. He helped me out when I was looking to buy a new guitar...anyway my thoughts are getting all muddy now. Randy you will be missed, and you have no idea how much you have touched all of our lives. My heart goes out to all his friends and family. It’s almost February and I’m just now doing the first HHBTM blog post this year. I had this big plan of doing more posts, and updating the site more often. It’s crazy how life gets in the way of your plans sometimes. The big news is that the HHBTM website is going to get a full renovation next month, so be on the look out for that. The HHBTM singles club is almost done. The Of Montreal / James Husband single is being mastered shortly. The Circulatory System single will be split with the Sunshine Fix, and the Love Letter Band single will be backed with High Water Marks. It’s been a busy couple of months since the last update. We had a CMJ showcase that featured Bearsuit, Cars Can Be Blue, Forever, and long time label friends the Great Lakes. The Lolligags were to also play that show but Leslie and Eric were in a car accident that damaged the moog and totaled Eric’s car, so they had to call off going to NYC. The HHBTM head quarters moved into a bigger house in October as well, so the office is now no longer shared with the bedroom, which is super nice. Cars Can Be Blue finished a 60 date 2 month tour of the USA only to get denied entry and detained in the UK before getting shipped back home losing their airfare and having to cancel their UK tour.(you can read the full story here) The Forever EP was to be released this month but it has been pushed back due to the track listing on all the artwork being incorrect, so we are in the middle of fixing that now. The Lolligags “Out of Peversity Join Hands” EP is now out. It features 5 new tracks and 2 remixes by Andy Gonzales (of Montreal & Marshmallow Coast) & Dan Geller (I am the World Trade Center & Ruby Isle). The SINGLES CLUB is still in the works with the All Girl Summer Fun Band / Cars Can Be Blue single due back from the plant any day now. The Circulatory System single is set to go to the plant first week of January followed shortly by the Love Letter Band single with the of Montreal single going in the first or second week of February. Goal is to have the club shipped out in late spring. I am running some sales for the Christmas Season (deals below), and we are doing a special PRE-ORDER for Cars Can Be Blue “All the Stuff We Do” LP (limited to 100 copies), the sleeve will be silkscreened, come with a cdr, and some more bonus goodies. I have some bad news. Leslie (the Lolligags & my wife) our little dog Pip (pictured above with Leslie), and Eric Hernandez (HHBTM, Athens Popfest) were in a car accident Sunday afternoon in Nashville as they were returning to Athens after a weekend of Lolligags practice before CMJ this week. A girl in a SUV ran a stop sign hitting the passenger side of the car. Everyone is okay, Eric has some cuts, Leslie is really sore, and Pip will be checked out by a vet tomorrow. Eric's car is totaled, our Moog is not working, and my amp is acting funny. With Leslie being really sore, Eric being shaken up and without a car, and since most of the Lolligags sound is based around their Moog, it looks as though the Lolligags, Eric, and myself will not be at CMJ after all. The showcase will still go on, but the new line up will be Forever, the Great Lakes, Cars Can Be Blue, and Bearsuit.

I have been trying to post a video of Cars Can Be Blue from Youtube, but it never seems to work. I guess the person who put it up has it blocked from being shared. Anyway they are still on tour, and have been for 3 weeks now. The dates to their tour and a new track are below. I also wanted to update everyone on the HHBTM singles club. The Apples in Stereo / Patience Please split single is back from the plant, and David Crane from Boat sent in the artwork, now I just have to screen them after I get back from CMJ. The All Girl Summer Fun Band / Cars Can Be Blue single has been mastered, and will be sent to the plant on Monday. Jen Sbragia (All Girl Summer Fun Band / Softies) is doing the finishing touches on the artwork for the single now. The Circulatory System / Sound Houses aka New Sound of Numbers singles will be sent off to the plant in November. The Love Letter Band single looks like it might be backed with a new Dressy Bessy track. I haven't heard back from Tender Forever in ages, so we might have to move on in order to keep the club from being further behind. Then last but not least the Of Montreal / James Husband single should be going into the plant in January. Right now I am using a few different pressing plants, but most are still pretty backed up due to the massive demand for vinyl. It looks as though the club will ship in March if all goes well. The Apples single was at the plant for over 2 months, so the delay is partially from the plant, and from me thinking a split single singles club was a smart idea. I just wanted to keep everyone posted on the progress of the club.

Been awhile since the last post. The Athens Popfest went over really well. Still can't believe we had Roky Erickson, the last Boyracer show, and the Music Tapes kazoo parade all work out without a hitch. The planning for PopFest 2009 is already underway. For now though please go and check out a very close friend of the Popfest Shane Byrd's yearbook style PopFest photos. The photo above is one Shane took of me on the Thursday night of the festival. Shane also shot some promo photos of the Lolligags while in town as well, so I'll post those when it's ready. Also look for some video posts, and lots of MP3's next week as well. Oh yeah, in Smittens news, the preorder versions of the new album are all gone now, but we still have the regular version of the new album available. HHBTM will have a CMJ Showcase at Spike Hill in Brooklyn on the 22nd of October. A Full line up will be announced on Monday.

With the Athens PopFest coming up, and the singles club still a major project that takes up a lot of my time, I have been a bit slack on posting lately. Lots and lots of stuff is in the works currently, so there should be lots more posts over the next few weeks. We have the PopFest going on from August 12th – 16th. The new Cars Can Be Blue album Doubly Unbeatable is doing great. Nate & Becky will be doing a short two week tour with Hotpants Romance right after PopFest. The Smittens new album The Coolest Thing About Love is moving quickly with just a handful of preorders left. The Smittens are having a blast in the UK and will be playing the Indietracks Festival along with their label-mates Red Pony Clock who are also touring the UK. The newest signing to HHBTM Hotpants Romance are getting ready for the stateside release of their debut album It’s a Heatwave. The Lolligags are also preparing for PopFest while also being excited to debut their new EP Out of Perversity Join Hands. In singles club news the Apples in Stereo / Patience Please split single is at the plant and the sleeve is being designed by David Crane of the band Boat. The All Girl Summer Fun Band / Cars Can Be Blue single is being mastered this week, and will be in the plant next week while Jen Sbragia finishes up the sleeve. We are also working out a fall tour for Cars Can Be Blue of the Midwest / Northeast / Southeast for October and November. Andy from Denver is working on the artwork for his new CD for a fall release. We are also hoping for word anyday now about our CMJ showcase. If we get it, then be on the lookout for a awesome show with Bearsuit, Velcro Stars, Cars Can Be Blue, Eux Autres, the Lolligags, Andy from Denver, and Keith John Adams.
